Microsoft on the 3rd of February launched their latest release of Office Communications Server – OCS R2. The release focuses primarily on voice quality and security as InterouteOne has support for OCS it is key to test interworking with the new release quickly.

The following services have been tested by Interoute Engineering group and proved to work with Microsoft OCS R2

  • Outbound calling using UDP RTP and SIP over TCP signalling
  • Call Forwarding from OCS
  • Inbound calls via NAT

The below is a list of features that have not been tested or have failed interoperability with the current network architecture is being reviewed to support this interworking.

  • Call forwarded calls via a NAT – (existing issue in R1)
  • SRTP – to be tested
  • Only relevant for Internet customers (NON interoute)
  • SIP over TLS – to be tested

The strategy for Interoute is to achieve certification from Microsoft as soon as possible and timeline will follow. This test is powered by Interoute in assistance of e-office.
