lcscmd.exe

Since Office Communications Server 2007 is released to manufacturing and organizations are deploying in their production environments it's very important to backup your OCS environment correctly. More information on this topic see:

Office Communications Server 2007 Document: Backup and Restoration Guide

Main chapters in these documents are:

Backing up your OCS environment globally by:

lcscmd /config /action:export /level:global,pool /configfile: <drive>:\<path>\<filename>.xml /poolname:[name of pool for which settings are to be exported]

Backup up your OCS environment at machine level:

lcscmd /config /action:export /level:machine /configfile:C:\Backup\OCS1Serversettings.xml /fqdn:ocspool1server1.contoso.com

Make sure these output files are correctly saved and available when needed.

I like to eat grilled cheese sandwiches. However, I am lactose intolerant so whenever I order a grilled cheese, I say "please hold the cheese." Some people respond with "so you want two pieces of grilled toast smashed together?" and that angers me because it's a grilled cheese sandwich without the cheese! Two pieces of grilled toast smashed together?? Who in their right mind would order that?? Geez people, get with the program!
